Mobile Club

In February 2022, The Showmen’s League of America (SLA) announced that the new SLA Mobile Club will make it’s debut at the International Independent Showmens Association (IISA) Trade Show. The multifunction club is the first to be used by a carnival trade organization and was approved overwhelmingly by the Board of Governors in an effort to involve more members than ever before. “As a travelling industry, it makes perfect sense to have our nationwide organization travel out to our members. We have so many members across the US and Canada who will be able to participate in activities and have more input as a result” said 2022 SLA President Patrick Jamieson. “The Mobile Club Committee is currently working on a summer route and event list for this year. We’ve received tremendous support from not only our members but sponsors and donors who are contributing to the remodel and ultimate success of the club.”

The 2022 summer route included Deggeller Attractions at Clay County Fair in FL, N.A.M.E. at Howard County Fair in IN, Minnesota State Fair (organized by FunBiz Concessions and Alamo Amusements),  Sonshine Amusements at Greene County Fair in AR, and Thomas Carnival at the Arkansas-Oklahoma State Fair.

For 2023, Thomas Carnival hosted the Mobile Club in Laredo, TX.  It will move to RCS in Houston, Frazier Shows, Butler Amusements, and The Pima County Fair in AZ for March.  A more detailed schedule will be made available soon.

Due to the fire of 2001 many of the League’s records were lost. We highly recommend searching old Billboard magazines at Google Books. Clicking on the 'Advanced Book Search' button will allow you to tailor your search to a specific time period.
